While the sun is still up, you can pick a stand on the shade side of a hill and call on foot with a lesser chance of being seen.  My friend Piet Vlakvark carries his calling gear in a moon bag and keeps moving while the CD is playing.  He wears the shooting lamp like a miner on his forehead.  This works well in Bushveld conditions at shotgun range.
